We are seeking a skilled Senior Design Engineer to lead the development of pressure control equipment per API 6A standards.

  • This is a critical role for an experienced professional with a deep understanding of API 6A standards and surface pressure control equipment design.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs using Inventor or similar CAD tools. They will conduct FEA and other mechanical calculations to validate designs, ensuring compliance with API 6A, ASME, and customer-specific requirements.

Cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain teams is essential. The candidate will provide engineering support for prototype testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts. Participation in and/or leading design reviews, DFMEAs, and engineering change processes is also required. Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to internal engineering standards and best practices will be expected.

To succeed in this role, candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 7 years of experience in mechanical design engineering in the oil & gas industry. Extensive knowledge of API 6A product design and certification processes is necessary. Proficiency in INVENTOR, VAULT, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, MathCAD, etc.) is required.

Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, API 6A, and API Q1 standards is required. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes and excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills are also necessary.
