Industrial Automation Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Automation Engineer to lead the design, configuration, and deployment of SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation systems, industrial control systems, and OT/IT integration technologies. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java is also desirable.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement SCADA and MES applications using Ignition and other industrial software tools.
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems.
  • Develop and maintain secure and efficient data exchange protocols using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA.
  • Manage industrial databases, SQL historian, and timeseries databases for high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs.
  • Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0 and predictive analytics.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADA/MES deployments to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
  • Proficiency with database technologies such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent.
  • Experience with OT/IT integration technologies such as REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC, SCADA, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards such as ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms such as Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes for SCADA/MES deployments.
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation projects.
  • Certifications such as Ignition Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications.
