Revenue Recognition Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Recognition Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of revenue recognition standards and principles, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition, and will also be responsible for performing detailed reviews of contracts and preparing supporting documentation.

  • Perform detailed reviews of contracts to ensure revenue recognition is performed in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to revenue and associated accounts.
  • Assist with the quarterly and annual external audits, preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Manage multiple internal relationships within the organization.
  • Perform various ad hoc revenue analysis and reporting as needed.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A B Com graduate degree.
  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting, preferably revenue accounting.
  • Public Accounting and/or professional services or IT industry experience highly preferred.
  • CA / CPA or pursuing a CA/CPA a plus.
Skills and Abilities

Candidates must possess:

  • A solid understanding of the ASC 606 revenue recognition standard and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, detail-oriented and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
