Data Governance Lead Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Data Governance Lead to spearhead the development and execution of enterprise-wide data governance initiatives. This role will be instrumental in ensuring that data is managed as a strategic asset, supporting compliance, quality, and ethical use across the organization.

The ideal candidate for this role has a blend of Data Governance, Compliance, and Business Analysis experiences. They will partner with business leaders to shape, guide, and advance an enterprise-wide data governance framework that ensures data accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the establishment of an enterprise-wide data governance team, strategy, framework, and processes.
  • Define and enforce data ownership & stewardship, establishing clear roles and responsibilities for data owners and stewards across business units.
  • Drive data quality & integrity initiatives, developing and implementing data quality standards, validation rules, and monitoring processes.
  • Contribute to data classification & protection efforts, directing the classification of data assets based on sensitivity, regulatory impact, and business value.
  • Develop and maintain governance policies & compliance frameworks, authoring and maintaining data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with regulations.
