Tapeout Process Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to manage the critical tapeout process and collaborate closely with customers on various tooling forms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with customers to understand tapeout requirements and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Convert GDSII layout files to MEBES format for mask fabrication, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Execute Design Rule Checks (DRC) to ensure compliance with foundry manufacturing rules.
  • Run Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) verifications and adjust layouts as necessary.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth tapeout releases.
  • Maintain tapeout workflow documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure timely completion of tapeout deliverables in line with project schedules.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, VLSI design, or related field.
  • Experience with GDSII, MEBES data formats, and their conversion processes.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with DRC and OPC tools.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor foundry tapeout flows and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for automation of tapeout processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
