About the Sous Chef Role

The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in maintaining an efficient kitchen operation. Their key responsibility is to constantly analyze and optimize food production quality and cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain set standards and monitor time management effectively, ensuring seamless workflow.
  • Provide ongoing training to ensure adherence to corporate guidelines, promoting consistency and excellence.

  • Improve service and product quality within a technical area of expertise, fostering innovation and improvement.
  • Adopt a helpful and accommodating manner when interacting with team members, promoting a positive work environment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Advanced culinary skills, leadership experience, and a strong background in quality hotels and restaurants.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the profession, including time spent in well-recognized luxury hospitality establishments or upscale cruise lines.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a management role in a reputable luxury hotel or upscale cruise line.
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Effective communication with senior management and ability to lead and make decisions.
  • Strong administrative skills and experience coaching subordinates.
  • Ability to be cost and quality conscious.
  • Flexibility to work with international team members and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Perform duties under pressure, adhering to strict deadlines and time constraints.

Preferred Skills

  • Cruise Ship Experience in 5-star Hotels or Fluency in additional languages.
