Role Overview:
This is not a conventional marketing role. As the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of one of India's largest jewellery retailers, you will architect the brand's evolution from regional dominance to national and global leadership. With an annual turnover of ₹5000 Crores and plans underway for a future IPO, the organization seeks a growth-oriented CMO who can lead across digital and physical channels, build a deeply trusted brand, and drive measurable business expansion.
The role demands exceptional skill in brand building, digital commerce, retail innovation, and customer engagement. You will drive strategic marketing decisions, spearhead retail and airport store expansion, amplify online sales of small-ticket items, and craft data-driven customer experiences. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Define and execute a bold, cohesive marketing roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct rigorous market and competitor analysis to anticipate shifts and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Design integrated marketing campaigns to drive awareness, traffic, and revenue across channels.
- Build and reinforce a premium brand identity grounded in trust, heritage, and craftsmanship.
- Lead storytelling initiatives that resonate emotionally with high-value and aspirational buyers.
- Maintain consistency in messaging across retail stores, e-commerce, PR, and social media platforms.
- Expand online jewellery retail with a focus on small-ticket, high-volume product lines.
- Lead digital marketing efforts including SEO/SEM, performance marketing, and influencer outreach.
- Optimize UX/UI, personalization, and conversion funnels on e-commerce platforms.
Retail Expansion & Physical Presence
- Identify high-potential markets for retail and airport store expansion.
- Supervise store design, launch strategy, and regional marketing for new outlets.
- Explore temporary pop-ups and collaborations to extend brand presence.
Exhibitions & Customer Experience Events
- Curate standout brand showcases at domestic and international jewellery exhibitions.
- Partner with design, sales, and production teams to ensure visually compelling and immersive brand presentations.
- Engage with celebrities, thought leaders, and influencers to drive aspirational brand positioning.
- Plan and execute high-visibility campaigns that deepen market penetration and brand equity.
- Ensure seamless customer experience between online and offline platforms.
- Synchronize CRM, inventory, marketing, and customer support to enable a unified brand journey.
- Design robust loyalty and referral programs to increase repeat business and customer lifetime value.
- Use data insights to personalize communication and offers for different customer segments.
- Manage and allocate the marketing budget effectively, maximizing ROI across initiatives.
- Establish performance dashboards to monitor campaign outcomes, channel performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Build a globally recognizable brand rooted in trust and quality.
- Drive omni-channel growth with measurable impact on top-line revenue.
- Champion data-led decision-making in all aspects of marketing and customer engagement.
- Lead strategic retail expansion across metro cities and high-footfall zones.
- Deliver innovation in luxury retail through exhibitions, digital platforms, and collaborations.
Ideal Profile/Requirements:
Education
MBA in Marketing or equivalent from a reputed institution.
Experience
- 15 years in marketing leadership roles, with at least 5 years in luxury retail or jewellery.
- Proven success in online retail growth, brand positioning, and new market penetration.
