Market Risk Professional

Market risk managers play a vital role in the financial sector, responsible for overseeing specialized risk management functions within the enterprise risk management practice.

Key Functional Expectations:
  • Policy and Procedure Development: The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing policies and guidelines on enhanced monitoring of Treasury/ Investment/ ALM/ Liquidity risk.
  • Valuation Expertise: They will be responsible for valuing Treasury portfolios, including Forex, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Equity, and other assets.
  • Mid-Office Monitoring Support: The candidate shall provide independent mid-office monitoring support on various aspects, such as NOP, Fixed income, FIG, Derivatives, limit monitoring, etc.
  • Hedge Effectiveness Monitoring: They shall monitor hedge effectiveness on a periodic basis to ensure accurate risk assessment.
  • Capital Charge and Counterparty Risk Charge Implementation: Implementation and calculation of Capital charge and Counterparty Risk Charge will be a key responsibility.
  • Technical Analysis Expertise: The candidate will conduct technical analysis of Equities, Bonds, and Money market funds to identify potential risks.
  • Limit Monitoring Responsibilities: All types of limit monitoring with respect to treasury activities as prescribed in internal and regulatory policies will be handled by the successful candidate.
  • MTM Reconciliation: MTM reconciliation with counterparty banks for derivatives deals undertaken and making/responding margin calls in term of CSA arrangement with them will be a key responsibility.
  • Regulatory and Internal Reporting: The candidate will be responsible for preparing Regulatory and internal daily and periodical reports and Board notes on accurate and timely submission.
  • Methodology Enhancement: Enhancing methodologies for counterpart credit risk measures like PFE, CVA, etc., will be a critical aspect of this role.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Liquidity Risk and ALM Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and simulating LCR/ NSFR, robust monitoring and risk reporting on Maturity of ALM products, and limit setting for MAL/SAL using statistical modelling techniques.
  • Pricing and Hedging Expertise: Generate interest rate risk on bank's book basis IRRBB or via Sensitivity Report analysis like NII and EVE.
  • Behavioral Studies Knowledge: Good understanding of Behavioral studies of ALM products will be essential.
  • System Implementation Experience: Implementation experience of ALM/ Market Risk system from end to end will be preferable.
  • Stress Testing Expertise: Well-versed with Stress testing of Liquidity and Interest rate risk.
  • ICAAP and RAROC Methodologies: ICAAP, RAROC, FTP methodologies, RAS will be preferable.
  • Audit Support: Handling Audit queries and providing active assistance in audit will be a key responsibility.
