About the Role

This key position oversees the day-to-day food production operation, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the kitchen's performance, maintaining high standards of quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication among staff members.
  • Foster a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
  • Mentor and train team members, helping them develop their culinary skills and achieve their full potential.
  • Liaise with senior management to discuss operational issues, propose solutions, and implement changes as needed.
  • Conduct regular taste tests to ensure dishes meet our high standards.
  • Identify and address any discrepancies in food quality, presentation, or plating.
  • Work closely with Section Heads to prepare daily menus and requisitions, taking into account forecasted demand and ingredient availability.
  • Ensure smooth service delivery during dinner hours, monitoring the production and preparation levels to guarantee efficient plating and presentation.
  • Verify adherence to Public Health regulations, ensuring compliance across all locations.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced culinary expertise, leadership abilities, and significant experience in the industry.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the culinary field, preferably in high-end restaurants or hotels.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a luxury hospitality establishment or upscale cruise line.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and make informed decisions, possessing good administrative skills.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring staff members, promoting teamwork and motivation.
  • Cost-conscious and quality-focused approach to food production and procurement.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, working effectively under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with international team members.
Preferred Skills:
  • Cruise ship or 5-star hotel experience.
  • Fluency in additional languages.
