Senior Database Consultant Job Description

As a seasoned database professional, you will be responsible for resolving complex technical issues requiring advanced expertise.

The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of experience in Oracle DB installation, upgrade, configuration, migration & performance tuning.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Resolve intricate technical problems (Oracle Database) requiring high-level technical expertise.
  • Collaborate directly with customers.
  • Drive improvements in product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on sensitive customer matters.
  • Consult with management to resolve critical customer situations.
  • Provide expert guidance on the complex use of Oracle products.
  • Achieve knowledge transfer through training, mentoring, and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge articles.
  • Analyze workloads and implement best practices to improve productivity.
  • Contribute to team efficiency by sharing knowledge and providing feedback.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Technical degree (BE / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA / M.Sc. in Computer Science /Mechanical / EXTC/).
  • Experience with cloud technologies from various vendors.
  • Thorough understanding of Oracle database features and architecture.
  • Extensive hands-on interaction with large database management systems.
  • Real Application Cluster (RAC) & ASM/Storage areas.
  • ZDLRA, Backup and Recovery, RMAN, Dataguard, and restore/recovery scenarios.
  • Performance Tuning, Parallel query, Query tuning.
  • Networking, Partitioning, Database Security, Golden Gate & Replication.
  • Enterprise Manager, General UNIX/Linux Concepts & Administration.
  • Managing Kernel Parameters, Partitioning, and File Systems.
  • Attributes:
  • Self-driven, result-oriented, and open to working remotely.
  • Strong customer support and client relation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Preferred Qualifications: OCI/OCP certification.
  • Key Skills: Database architecture knowledge, administration, Exadata, Exadata Cloud, and OCI architectures.
