Job Overview

As a seasoned expert in cloud-based database services, you will provide deep technical support for Azure Databases and Azure Managed Instances. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex database-related issues, including performance issues, query optimization, replication, and availability problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and optimize the performance of SQL databases in Azure to ensure efficient operations and minimal downtime.
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies and ensure high availability and disaster recovery configurations (e.g., Geo-replication, Azure Backup, and Site Recovery).
  • Lead database migrations from on-premise systems to Azure Database or Azure Managed Instances.
  • Work with development teams to optimize database designs, queries, and data models for cloud environments.
  • Monitor and report on database performance, uptime, and other metrics.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in computer science or information technology, with proven experience working with Azure SQL Database and other DB engines of Azure. You should have expertise in SQL Server, including query optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience working with Azure SQL Database and Other DB Engines of Azure, Azure Managed Instances, and related cloud-based database services.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server (on-premises and in the cloud), including query optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
