Job Title: Lead Database Migration Expert

We are seeking a seasoned expert in Oracle database migrations to lead our team of professionals. As the Lead Database Migration Expert, you will oversee the entire migration lifecycle, ensuring seamless transitions between platforms and systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive migration strategies that minimize downtime and ensure high availability.
  • Lead assessments, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization of database migrations.
  • Migrate Oracle databases across multiple environments, including Exadata and ExaCC.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data backup and recovery procedures using Rubrik and RMAN.
  • Design and execute delta data synchronization strategies for near-zero downtime migrations.
  • Analyze and resolve complex database issues using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in Oracle database administration, with 5+ years in leadership roles managing large-scale database migrations.
  • Proven track record of successfully migrating Oracle databases in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Expertise in Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, as well as Oracle Data Guard setup, switchover, failover, and role transitions.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native database solutions in AWS and Azure, including RDS, EC2, S3, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, and Recovery Vaults.
  • Knowledge of data purging, retention policies, and compliance requirements for regulated environments.
