Achieve Technical Excellence as a Senior Manager in Software Engineering

Job Description

As a Senior Manager, you will drive the execution and delivery of features by collaborating with multiple teams. You will make critical decisions that contribute to the success of the product, proactively foresee issues, and resolve them before they happen.

Additionally, you will manage daily stand-ups as the Scrum Master for engineering teams, partner with Product Owners to align objectives and priorities, and ensure teams have clear priorities and adequate resources.

You will empower delivery teams to self-coordinate, provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members, maintain high morale, and motivate the delivery team to go above and beyond.

Vocally advocating for technical excellence, you will help teams make good decisions, participate in architecture discussions and planning, and maintain our culture by interviewing and hiring qualified individuals.

Occasionally, you will assist teams with release commitments by chipping in on development tasks such as coding and feature verifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A related technical degree is required.
  • Minimum 15 years of software engineering experience with 3-5 years of proven track record leading sizeable teams.
  • Experience leading large-scale distributed systems, working with microservices and/or distributed architecture.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, proactive, comfortable working with minimal specifications.
