Job Title\

As a senior executive, the Engineering Director will be responsible for overseeing technology platform planning and development. This role requires close collaboration with the CTO and CPOs to drive technical execution and strategy that aligns with the organization's goals. The successful candidate will lead and inspire a team of software developers, ensuring they deliver high-quality results on ambitious product roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Execution:\
  • Manage technology platforms, including strategic planning, development, and support of web, mobile, and AI initiatives.\
  • Own the success of web and mobile platforms across all initiatives.\
  • Define the engineering structure and drive developer productivity.\
  • Develop quality engineering approaches that fit the overall architecture.\
  • Design test strategies and create appropriate test harnesses, data, and tools.\
  • Identify technology trends and opportunities for organizational growth.\
  • Lead software solution design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.\
  • In conjunction with Product Management, lead multiple technology and new product development projects.\
  • Technology Strategy & Platform Design:\
  • Maintain a current view of the technology ecosystem and the Foundation's mission to identify novel/disruptive solutions.\
  • Work with the CTO to develop an integrated platform architecture incorporating first and third-party components.\
  • Maintain and align the organization to a defined roadmap that supports current needs with available technologies.\
  • Ensure tangible and measurable results through clear KPIs and metrics.\
  • Track, analyze, and monitor technology performance metrics.\
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with IT service providers and vendors.\
  • Ensure internal processes and customer-facing services comply with community expectations and applicable laws and regulations.\
  • People Management:\
  • Lead a team of Software Development Managers, Technical Program Managers, Data Engineers, and a Development Operations team.\
  • Create a culture of sustained innovation where team members produce their best work.\
  • Hire motivated teams and inspire them to design groundbreaking technologies.
Requirements\

Required qualifications include:

  • Education: A University degree in Engineering or Technology science, or another rigorous discipline.\
  • Experience: Extensive experience in engineering leadership for large-scale technology initiatives.\
  • Deep understanding and mastery of Product and Technology disciplines.\
  • Strong experience in developing app and digital products for web and mobile.\
  • Established background in developing scalable technical products.\
  • Proven experience in architecture and deployment of scalable web applications.\
  • Managed large volumes of transactions, user interfaces, interconnectivity, and user sharing on a platform.
