Contract Negotiator Role

We are seeking a skilled Contract Negotiator to join our team. This is a pivotal role that requires the ability to negotiate and draft commercial contracts with precision, organization, and collaboration.

About the Role:

This role plays a crucial part in supporting the legal function by streamlining legal review of commercial agreements and increasing efficiency for revenue/sales. As a Contracts Negotiator, you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts including NDAs, statements of work, master agreements, and data privacy agreements.

You will maintain contracts to ensure accurate and compliant contract records and build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders. You will work closely with legal counsel and internal stakeholders, gaining exposure to a wide range of legal and business matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate terms and conditions for order forms, professional service agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, data privacy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other agreements according to internal guidelines.
  • Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
  • Develop and effectively articulate creative solutions and draft appropriate alternative terms, working closely with attorneys within the Legal team, as appropriate.
  • Obtain approval for non-standard terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • Educate internal teams to promote conformity and consistency in contract terms and legal obligations.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of Legal administrative processes and legal documents (contracts, corporate records, non-disclosure agreements, data privacy agreements, etc.).
  • Partner with other internal teams to drive process and operational improvements and ensure extraordinary customer experience.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require a University level degree or equivalent, with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms & conditions with directly customers or vendors. Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing, including IAACM or similar certification is required.

Familiarity with media organizations is desirable. You must be able and willing to work flexible hours and highly proficient in spoken and written English. Experience working with commercial contract management and a good level of understanding of contract and commercial law is essential.

A strong attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines are also critical. Strong communication and follow-up skills are necessary to succeed in this role.
