Job Description

The IT Procurement Supervisor role is a pivotal position within the organization, overseeing the procurement and distribution of equipment, supplies, and services. This key position plays a crucial role in driving cost savings while meeting quality and delivery requirements.

This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies and policies to optimize purchasing activities. They will collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs, forecast demand, and develop procurement plans accordingly.

In addition, the IT Procurement Supervisor will identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery performance. They will negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable pricing and contractual agreements.

Maintaining market trends, supplier performance, and product specifications are critical components of this role. The IT Procurement Supervisor must monitor and analyze these factors to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

The management of the purchase order process, ensuring accurate and timely purchase order creation, issuance, and tracking, falls under the responsibility of the IT Procurement Supervisor. They will oversee the supplier evaluation and qualification process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.

Resolving supplier-related issues, including disputes, quality concerns, delivery delays, and payment discrepancies, is also a significant part of this role.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, being able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and audit, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the procurement process.

Oversight and guidance of the purchasing team, including training, performance evaluation, and professional development initiatives, will be provided by the IT Procurement Supervisor.
