Production Operations Manager Job Description

As a Production Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process to ensure it aligns with planned outcomes. This includes managing resources such as personnel, equipment, materials, and finances to guarantee timely completion of projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams to implement efficient production processes.
  • Monitoring production progress to identify areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintaining quality standards by conducting regular inspections and tests.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures to prevent workplace injuries and environmental hazards.
  • Managing inventory levels to prevent production interruptions.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 to 15 years of experience in freight car business and wagon manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in computer software programs like Microsoft Office and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledge of production processes and procedures, including welding, assembly, and testing.
