Business Leader Job Summary

The Business Leader is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end issuance and fulfillment of new business. This includes managing Work-In-Progress (WIP) and driving operational efficiency across teams to ensure seamless business continuity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Relationship Management:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distribution heads through regular engagement and performance monitoring.
Managing New Business:
  • Oversee daily WIP management to meet monthly targets.
  • Drive WIP clearance through hub teams to clear field WIP on a daily basis.
  • Participate in regular governance calls with HUBs teams.
  • End-to-end WIP management, including identifying opportunities for improvement and driving process excellence initiatives.
Data and Reporting:
  • Analyze and deliver reports on various business parameters to inform improvement plans.
  • Provide data sets, reports, and dashboards to support distribution teams.
  • Collaborate with internal departments on automation agenda.
  • Prepare presentations for senior management as needed.
Control and Monitor Processes:
  • Maintain compliance with AxisMaxlife and IRDAI norms.
  • Ensure SOPs are up-to-date and documented.
  • Document and control changes in existing processes.
  • Process service requests according to defined SLAs.
Projects and Continuous Improvement:
  • Benchmark internally and externally to establish best-in-class delivery standards.
  • Roll out new guidelines for distribution adherence.
People Management:
  • Develop team members to perform effectively and efficiently.

Measures of Success:

  1. Monthly/regular governance engagements with Distribution leaders/head.
  2. Publishing Monthly Issuance Dashboard/Scorecard.
  3. Driving Operational efficiencies with Distribution team.
  4. 92% M0 Issuance.
  5. 94% M2 Issuance.
  6. FTR of 85%.
  7. Customer satisfaction through resolution of escalations and requests with TAT.
  8. # of projects completed - Complete 1 Green/Black belt project for the year.
  9. Talent retention, >10% attrition for G2M2abv.
  10. Accurate reconciliation of business data/reports.
  11. User-friendly customization of analytical report.
  12. Number of Initiatives deployed to bring in process improvements.
  13. Effective alignment across departments with minimal escalations.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
  • Graduate/Post Graduate in Management.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience.
  • 5 years in relationship management and Banca operations management.
  • Sound knowledge of Bancassurance or Banking Operations Model & specifically operations processes.
  • Good communication & analytical skills.
  • Strong data skills and solution-centric approach.
  • Customer-centric approach.
  • Process documentation and systems approach.
  • Computer skills in using databases and office management software including spreadsheets/presentation skills.
