Portfolio Analyst Position

">Job Summary:">

We are seeking a skilled Portfolio Analyst to join our team in Delhi. As a Portfolio Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of Mutual Funds, Portfolio Management Services, and Alternative Investment Funds in India.

">Main Responsibilities:">
  • Data Analysis: Track, analyze, and evaluate the performance of mutual funds, PMS, and AIF schemes across various strategies.
  • Quantitative Research: Conduct quantitative analysis using metrics such as alpha, beta, Sharpe ratio, and drawdowns.
  • Qualitative Assessments: Perform qualitative assessments of fund houses, investment philosophies, and risk management practices.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor portfolio positioning, sector exposures, liquidity profiles, and churn across managers.
  • Benchmarking: Compare fund strategies against benchmarks and peer groups, identifying outperformers and laggards.
">Due Diligence & Manager Evaluation:">
  • Fund Manager Meetings: Conduct due diligence meetings with fund managers, CIOs, and investment teams.
  • Fund Manager Assessment: Assess fund managers' track records, tenure, investment styles, and decision-making processes.
  • Risk Review: Review compliance, governance, and operational risks of PMS/AIF platforms.
  • Product Shortlisting: Maintain an internal scoring framework for shortlisting products.
">Market & Industry Tracking:">
  • Industry Updates: Stay updated on SEBI regulations, tax rules, and industry developments impacting MFs, PMS, and AIFs.
  • Trends Analysis: Track flows, AUM trends, and innovation in product structures, such as Cat III AIFs and structured products.
  • Global Trends: Monitor global trends in asset allocation and alternatives applicable in the Indian context.
">Reporting & Client Support:">
  • Research Reports: Prepare research reports, fund notes, presentations, and model portfolios for internal teams and clients.
  • Investment Committee Support: Support the investment committee with recommendations and research insights.
  • Client Assistance: Assist sales/advisory teams with fund data, market outlook, and client-facing analysis.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to thought-leadership content, whitepapers, and newsletters.

Requirements:

  • Financial Markets Knowledge: Strong grasp of financial markets, asset classes, portfolio management, and risk analytics.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, Bloomberg/Refinitiv/Morningstar/ValueResearch/ACE MF or similar tools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Insight Synthesis: Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights for decision-making.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of SEBI regulations for MFs, PMS, and AIFs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance/Economics/Statistics/Commerce.
  • Professional Certifications: Professional qualifications preferred: CFA, CA, MBA (Finance), FRM, CIPM, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in mutual fund research, PMS analysis, buy-side/sell-side research, or wealth management.
