Job Overview

The role of a Contract Negotiator plays a pivotal part in facilitating the legal function by streamlining legal review of commercial agreements and enhancing efficiency for revenue/sales.

This position involves drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, maintaining accurate and compliant contract records, and establishing trusted relationships with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and negotiating terms and conditions for order forms, professional service agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, data privacy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other agreements according to internal guidelines.
  • Solving any contract-related issues that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
  • Developing and effectively articulating creative solutions and drafting suitable alternative terms, working closely with attorneys within the Legal team.
  • Obtaining approval for non-standard terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • Educating internal teams to promote conformity and consistency in contract terms and legal obligations.
  • Contribution to the maintenance and enhancement of Legal administrative processes and legal documents.
  • Partnering with other internal teams to drive process and operational improvements and ensure exceptional customer experience.

Key Qualifications

  • A university-level degree or equivalent, with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms & conditions with directly customers or vendors.
  • Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing, including IAACM or similar certification required.
  • Familiarity with media organizations desirable.
  • Experience working with commercial contract management and a good level of understanding of contract and commercial law.
  • Ability to manage complex issues and apply legal, financial, and business principles to contracting.
  • Proficiency in digital tools, document systems, and MS Office - particularly advanced skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint.
