Business Development Manager

  1. The role of a business development manager is multifaceted and dynamic. It involves identifying, recruiting, and building a team of business associates and advisors to drive business objectives on a month-on-month basis.
  2. Coordinating regulatory trainings for the team and ensuring they are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  3. Managing daily, weekly, and monthly choreography to achieve desired outcomes.
  4. Conducting regular meetings with business associates and advisors to discuss progress, set goals, and address any challenges or concerns.
  5. Driving business submissions and issuances by working closely with stakeholders and ensuring that all necessary processes are followed.
  6. Clearance of pending cases for documentation and medicals as part of the issuance process.
  7. Training distribution on getting higher first-time right submission.
  8. Achieving monthly objectives and targets through effective planning, coordination, and execution.
  9. Motivating advisors and business associates for various contests and sales enablers.
  10. Daily updates about the status of business and applicability in contests.
  11. Maintaining healthy relationships with all stakeholders like customers and distributors.
  12. Working on opportunities of cross-sell and upsell.
  13. Focused effort to drive renewal premium collection.

  • Business Acumen: Align with the organization's vision, understand the insurance industry, regulations, and agency business model to deliver month-on-month business objectives.
  • Building and Managing Relationships: Identify, recruit, and nurture business associates and advisors, maintain relationships with various stakeholders (internal and external) to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Drive for Results and Agility: Building an achievement orientation, with extraordinary levels of energy and efforts while being accountable for one's actions and decisions in an agile environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

Graduate degree required; 7-10 years of sales management experience preferred. Desired qualifications include an MBA/PG and 3-4 years of insurance industry exposure.
