A qualification in finance (PGDM,US CFA level 1+) is advantageous, but we are open to considering candidates from other streams who have an inclination to learn and grow in this industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the credit analyst team in India that underwrites deals for the US market.
2. Collaborate closely with the Credit Committee in New York to ensure seamless functioning of the credit function.
3. Ensure quality of credit analysis, train, and mentor the team to adhere to underwriting quality metrics.
4. Oversee daily underwriting pipeline and queues to ensure timely movement, balanced workloads, and efficient resource allocation.
5. Provide guidance and resolve issues to support smooth loan flow for escalated or complex underwriting scenarios.
6. Support and mentor underwriters through day-to-day guidance, fostering development, and monitoring team performance.
7. Ensure underwriting decisions meet agency, investor, and company guidelines while supporting risk management and quality control initiatives.
8. Ideate and execute process enhancements in the credit function to improve analysis quality and turnaround times.
9. Interact with clients and other stakeholders to gather feedback and mentor the team accordingly.
10. Engage with the Data Science team to embed AI and machine learning into underwriting processes.
11. Collaborate with the Trading team to ensure proper loan structuring for warehouse lines and securitizations.
12. Present hand-selected deals to the investment committee for final approval.

PG/Master's degree from a premier college with a specialization in finance, economics, or a related field.

Additional financial qualifications like US CFA Level 2+ or FRM Level 2 are beneficial.

Experience in credit analysis, particularly in the real estate industry, is essential, especially exposure to the US market.

Leadership experience in managing a small team of highly skilled analysts is required.

Exposure to US or European clients and managing offshore teams is advantageous.

Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary.

Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask are essential qualities for success in this role.
