**Job Summary:** The Production merchandiser will oversee the smooth coordination of garment production, quality control, and delivery.

This role involves ensuring operational excellence through process enhancements, performance monitoring, and coordinating with teams.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories.
  • Coordinate with Production Manager to develop samples including fabric selection, construction, fit, and quality.
  • Review and approve samples, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.

**Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop yearly and monthly production plans with timelines based on order requirements, capacity, and lead times.
  • Plan and allocate resources, including materials and labor.
  • Ensure materials and resources are available for production, monitor production progress, and address any issues or delays to meet delivery deadlines.

**Vendor Management:** Identify, select, negotiate contracts, and ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of fabric and trims.

**Costing and Budgeting:** Prepare cost estimates for products, manage budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

**Quality Control:** Establish quality standards, conduct inspections, and work with production team to implement corrective actions.

**Inventory Management:** Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, ensure timely replenishment, and manage stock levels to minimize excess inventory and reduce costs.

**Production Coordination:** Coordinate with various production departments, ensure smooth communication and workflow between teams.

**Documentation and Reporting:** Maintain records of production activities, prepare regular reports on production status, costs, and quality.

**Requirements:** A degree in textile engineering, fashion merchandising, or a related field is preferred. More than 5 years of experience is required. Knowledge of textile and garment manufacturing processes, production management software, and tools is necessary. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are also essential.
