
Commercial Growth Director

The Head of Ecommerce will have complete responsibility for a specific geography's Profit and Loss (P&L) results, setting ambitious revenue, margin, and customer acquisition cost (CAC)/lifetime value (LTV) targets.
This leader will craft and execute a comprehensive growth strategy across various channels, including direct-to-consumer (D2C), marketplaces, offline, and emerging markets.
They will forecast demand and manage end-to-end inventory to ensure stock levels are always sufficient and within acceptable limits (< 2% stock-out and < 4% ageing stock).
The Head of Ecommerce will define product-market fit, localize key SKUs, develop new-product roadmaps, and sunset low-return-on-investment (ROI) lines.
Collaborating with research and development (R&D), they will adapt formulations to meet regional regulations and sensorial preferences.
They will orchestrate a 360-degree marketing approach, allocating budgets to maximize return on ad spend (ROAS).
The Head of Ecommerce will establish data pipelines and dashboards to track cohorts, repeat rates, marketplace rankings, and other key performance indicators in real-time.
They will negotiate with third-party logistics providers, payment partners, and duty consultants to optimize landed costs and service level agreements (SLAs).
Recruiting, mentoring, and managing cross-functional teams (growth, operations, customer success, retail, trade), this leader will champion customer obsession and mine vocal feedback insights to inform product updates and customer experience enhancements.
Driving strategic partnerships with wellness chains, tourism boards, and Ayurveda clinics, they will amplify reach and expand the brand's presence.
The Head of Ecommerce will ensure legal and tax compliance, including cosmetics claims, import duties, and GDPR-like mandates.
Presenting quarterly business reviews to global leadership, they will highlight wins, risks, and next opportunities.
Deploying a test-and-learn culture, this leader will run A/B tests on funnels, creatives, bundles, and pricing levers.
Setting up disaster-recovery and continuity plans for supply, logistics, advertising, and key seller accounts.
Benchmarking competition, they will deliver actionable intelligence on pricing, share-of-voice, and shelf velocity.
Acting as the brand's cultural ambassador, embodying its ethos while driving high-performance execution.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Tier 1 college degree from reputable institutions like IIMs, XLRI, MDI, or ISB.
- 10-17 years of relevant work experience in retail industry (FMCG, Retail, E-commerce)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- Strong analytical, data, and problem-solving skills, with ability to leverage information for reporting
- Ability to drive and manage own tasks effectively, work independently, and contribute to team efforts
- Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through
- Superior time management skills, with ability to multi-task and prioritize under tight schedules
- Self-accountability and consistent updates to stakeholders
- Proficiency with project-based tools such as Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
