About the Role

As a Commis Chef, you will work under the supervision of senior chefs like the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef. This entry-level position is ideal for those starting their culinary careers and eager to learn kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in food preparation, including washing, chopping, and seasoning ingredients
  • Support senior chefs during meal preparation and service, ensuring seamless execution
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, adhering to strict standards
  • Receive and organize deliveries, verifying quantities and quality
  • Rotate stock and discard expired items, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory
  • Plate and present dishes as instructed, showcasing culinary expertise
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, prioritizing customer health and well-being

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Basic culinary knowledge and knife skills, essential for efficient food preparation
  • Ability to follow instructions and recipes, with attention to detail and precision
  • Good organizational and time management skills, enabling effective multitasking and deadline adherence
  • Teamwork and communication abilities, fostering collaboration and problem-solving
  • Physical stamina to stand for long hours, with energy and endurance
  • Culinary certification or diploma (preferred but not always required), demonstrating commitment to ongoing education and professional growth
