Job Title

As a computational fluid dynamics expert, you will be responsible for setting up and running simulations to analyze aerodynamic performance.

  • Utilize OpenFOAM to simulate flow regimes including incompressible and hypersonic conditions.
  • Select appropriate solvers, turbulence models, and thermophysical properties based on simulation requirements.
  • Develop high-quality meshes using native OpenFOAM tools or external pre-processors.
  • Automate tasks with Python scripts for pre-processing, simulation control, and post-processing.
  • Interpret aerodynamic performance metrics such as lift, drag, pressure distribution, and shock characteristics.
  • Validate CFD results through comparison with experimental data or established literature.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in OpenFOAM for aerodynamic simulations.
  • Strong knowledge of aerodynamics and fluid mechanics.
  • Ability to simulate complex geometries.
  • Python scripting skills for automation.
  • Experience with mesh generation tools compatible with OpenFOAM.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with hypersonic flow physics and related modeling techniques.
  • Experience in HPC environments and parallel computing.
  • Knowledge of turbulence and transition modeling.
  • Exposure to aircraft design or UAV aerodynamics.
  • Additional CFD software experience is beneficial.
