Job Overview

The Senior Accountant role encompasses overseeing all accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely financial statements preparation for the India entity. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with local Indian GAAP, tax regulations, and IFRS (if applicable), as well as supporting internal and external audits.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Data/transactions processing on the system.
  • Analyzing Financial Information.
  • Account reconciliations with the general ledger and consideration of accruals and provisions.
  • Filing VAT and Tax returns.
  • Maintaining monthly closing activities in terms of data validation, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Collaborating with team members to monitor asset disposals, additions, and movements.
  • Issuing periodic reports.
  • Preparing data for internal and external audits.
  • Coordinating and following up on needed data from different departments.
  • Managing day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Indian GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including GST, TDS, corporate tax filings, and MCA reporting.
  • Coordinating and supporting external audits, internal audits, and tax assessments.
  • Monitoring and managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintaining fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
  • Performing variance analysis and assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Liaising with banks, auditors, consultants, and government bodies as needed.
  • Ensuring proper documentation, filing, and record keeping of all financial transactions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA (preferred) or pursuing CA/CMA.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in a multinational or large Indian firm.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), tax laws, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, & Tally).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Fin-tech background is preferred
