Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to administer and support our enterprise messaging infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in IBM MQ on z/OS, with a strong understanding of queue sharing groups, FTE configurations, and monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ Series and MQ FTE on z/OS.">
  • Manage MQ objects including queue managers, queues, channels, and cluster configurations.">
  • Monitor MQ performance and availability, applying tuning techniques to optimize throughput and reduce latency.">

Upgrade Support:

">

The successful candidate will plan and execute upgrades of MQ Series and FTE components on z/OS, ensuring minimal disruption to our systems.

">

Security & Compliance:

">

The role demands a high level of security awareness, with the ability to implement and manage MQ security protocols, including TLS/SSH certificates, RACF integration, and security exits.

">

System Programming & Integration:

">

The ideal candidate will support integration of MQ with z/OS subsystems, including CICS, DB2, and IMS, as well as develop and maintain automation scripts using REXX, JCL, or Assembler for MQ operations.

">

Disaster Recovery & High Availability:

">

The successful candidate will design and implement MQ Queue Sharing Groups and RESLEVEL configurations for high availability, contributing to disaster recovery planning, testing, and failover strategies for MQ environments.

Collaboration & Support:

">

The role requires excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to partner with developers, infrastructure teams, and support staff to troubleshoot and resolve MQ-related issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with IBM MQ on z/OS.">
  • Deep understanding of MQ Queue Sharing Groups, FTE configurations, and MQ monitoring tools.">
  • Proficiency in COBOL, REXX, JCL, and related language tools.">
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.">
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.">
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in hybrid team environments.">

Preferred Certifications:

Candidates with IBM MQ Administrator Certification (or equivalent relevant certification) will be highly valued.
