MQ Infrastructure Specialist

As a successful Distributed Messaging Expert, you will be responsible for the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of critical messaging infrastructure.

  • Lead complex initiatives and issues within the messaging functional technical area as well as cross-functional areas.
  • Work closely with the application development organization to determine best practices, tuning, problem resolution, and root cause analysis in the messaging space.
  • Deploy, upgrade, and manage infrastructures for the messaging environment.
  • Provide technical consulting on the use and integration of messaging system utilities, tools, and applications.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years administering and architecting IBM MQ environments, including deployment, upgrades, configurations, setup, performance tuning.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills are a must with the ability to drive to root cause.
  • Experience with Kafka streaming.
  • Understanding network topologies, common network protocols, and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP) and experience with configuring network interfaces.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading troubleshooting calls and driving to root cause resolution.
  • Working with the application development organization to determine best practices and resolve problems.
  • Providing technical consulting on the use and integration of messaging and middleware system utilities, tools, and applications.
