Senior Ruby Backend Developer

About the Role:

At our organization, we are looking for a skilled Ruby on Rails developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend systems using Ruby.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-performance backend systems using Ruby on Rails
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Ensure seamless deployment of applications in various environments
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure application reliability

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in Ruby language fundamentals, idioms, and metaprogramming
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), mixins, blocks, procs, and lambdas
  • Familiarity with memory management, garbage collection tuning, and performance profiling
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, Grape, ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, and ActiveModel validations
  • Proficiency in deploying and optimizing Passenger and Thin servers
  • Understanding of thread versus process models, connection handling, worker tuning, and memory profiling
  • PostgreSQL experience and advanced usage of ActiveRecord
  • Ability to optimize N+1 queries, indexes, and query plans
  • Proficient with Bundler, Rake, RubyGems, gem building, and custom gem publishing
  • Knowledge of RVM, rbenv, and chruby
