Java Backend Software Engineer

As a member of our agile team, you will drive user story analysis and elaboration, design and develop responsive web applications using the best engineering practices.

We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Engineer to perform hands-on software development, write unit tests, conduct proof of concepts, and participate in code reviews and testing. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of distributed systems, experience with continuous integration and delivery environments, and a proven track record of building scalable web applications using Java.

This role is perfect for those who enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team, managing their own time effectively, and driving automation to ensure high-quality deliverables. You will work closely with product managers, backend, and frontend engineers to implement versatile solutions to tricky web development problems.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Serving as a core member of an agile team
  • Performing hands-on software development
  • Developing deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms
  • Managing your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Driving automation and ensuring automated test scripts are completed for new features

In order to be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline
  • 3-4 years of work experience
  • 5-7 years of experience working in Java and demonstrating good Java knowledge
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Micro Services, Hibernate

If you have experience working with frameworks such as Dropwizard, Node.js on the Javascript stack, and Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices, unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing, regression testing, GUI testing, web service testing, and browser compatibility testing, it's a plus
