Lead Data Engineering Specialist

The role requires a Lead Data Engineering Specialist to drive the conception and implementation of comprehensive data solutions. This will involve collaborating closely with senior stakeholders in designing data strategies for various use cases, focusing on controllership, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and general procurement organization (GPO).

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing technical solutions for delivering scalable analytical solutions leveraging cloud and big data technologies.
  • Collaborating with business consultants and product owners to design and implement technical solutions.
  • Designing and driving end-to-end data and analytics solution architecture from concept to delivery on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Designing, developing, and supporting conceptual, logical, and physical data models for advanced analytics and machine learning-driven solutions.
  • Ensuring integration of industry-accepted data architecture principles, standards, guidelines, and concepts with other domains along with coordinated roll-out and adoption strategies.
  • Driving the design, sizing, provisioning, and setup of GCP environments and related services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.
  • Providing mentoring and guidance on GCP-based data architecture to engineering, analytics, and business teams.
  • Reviewing solution requirements and architecture for appropriate technology selection, efficient resource utilization, and effective integration across systems and technologies.
  • Advising on emerging GCP trends and services and recommending adoption strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Actively participating in pre-sales engagements and contributing to publishing thought leadership content.
  • Closely collaborating with founders and leadership team to shape and drive the organization's cloud and data strategy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

A demonstrated experience in delivering multiple data and analytics solutions on GCP is necessary. Additionally, hands-on experience with data ingestion, processing, and orchestration tools such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Cloud Composer, and Data Fusion is required.

  • Technical Requirements:
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and analytics services including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Looker.
  • Experience with enterprise data management including data quality, metadata management, data governance, and data observability using GCP-native or third-party tools.
  • Hands-on experience coding in Python, SQL, and Spark is necessary.
  • Ability to pick up new languages or technologies quickly.
