Project Director - IT Leadership

The role of an IT leader is multifaceted, encompassing the management of technology projects and portfolios. The successful candidate will oversee the IT Portfolio processes, including strategic planning, governance, methodology framework, and resource capacity management.

  • Develop and implement project management standards and best practices across the IT portfolio.
  • Serve as a mentor to the project management team, guiding performance reviews, career growth, and training.
  • Create staffing plans for internal and external resources, recommending long-term contractors or full-time additions.
  • Analyze project proposals to determine timelines, funding, and required processes.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project teams throughout all phases.
  • Ensure effective communication, including steering committee meetings and status reports.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Maintain alignment with business objectives, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Foster agile/scrum methodologies within the organization's SDLC framework.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in managing complex IT projects.
  • Deep understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Disciplined Agile, etc.).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Background in Business Analysis.
  • Prior experience leading an IT Portfolio or PMO.
  • Experience managing external vendors and contract staff.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
