Job Description:

  • We are seeking a seasoned loan reviewer to join our team. As an experienced loan reviewer, you will be responsible for reviewing mortgage files submitted to underwriting, analyzing data, and making informed decisions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review mortgage loan files including income, assets, credit, and collateral to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Utilize automated underwriting systems to determine approval and clearing conditions for final approval.
  • Evaluate loan documents to ensure compliance with client guidelines and regulations.
  • Identify and clear red flags or alerts to ensure smooth loan processing.
  • Issue loan decisions and condition files accordingly.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2+ years of current conventional mortgage loan underwriting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of income calculations, tax returns, reading credit reports, and identifying red flags.
  • Basic knowledge of appraisal and ability to recognize red flags and ineligible properties.
  • Thorough working knowledge of GSE underwriting guidelines and automated underwriting engines (DU/LP).
  • Strong analytic, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong ability to time manage.
  • Ability to work in a flexible and production-oriented environment.
  • Must be willing and able to work as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NMLS-MLO Licensure.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
