We are seeking an experienced and proactive Team Leader to oversee a team of analysts supporting a leading UK Bank's Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Lending operations. This role will manage day-to-day delivery, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and managing client's UK stakeholders. The position demands strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of CRE lending, and proven ability to drive cross-border collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management & Delivery

  • Lead and mentor analysts processing CRE loan applications, credit documentation, and portfolio management.
  • Ensure delivery in line with SLAs/KPIs with a 98%+ right-first-time documentation accuracy.
  • Track, review, and report team performance; conduct regular feedback and coaching.

Operational Excellence

  • Enforce adherence to AAF Lending Policy, Standards, and Lending Criteria.
  • Review and approve credit papers/documentation prior to submission.
  • Support the use of front-end systems to monitor loan applications through approval.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the single point of contact for client stakeholders in the UK.
  • Manage escalations, provide operational updates, and lead process alignment discussions.
  • Facilitate transparent, regular communication between India and UK teams.

Compliance & Risk

  • Oversee collaboration with KYC and Financial Crime teams for onboarding/fraud cases.
  • Ensure compliance with UK banking regulations and client-specific policies.

Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Identify and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Prepare and present performance reports, dashboards, and insights for senior leadership.

Training & Development

  • Conduct training on UK CRE lending practices, compliance, and systems.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Ad Hoc

  • Participate in UK stakeholder meetings as required.
  • Handle special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or financial services.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and working with UK/international banking clients.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of CRE lending, credit documentation, and compliance.
  • Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient in banking systems, reporting, and MS Office tools.
