Job Title: Senior Fixed Asset Accountant

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for the management of fixed assets, ensuring timely processing, routing, tracking, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and process fixed asset authorizations, ensuring requests are appropriate and approved at the correct level.
  • Set up assets in Oracle to track spending and ensure accurate records.
  • Identify assets ready for placement in service and obtain capitalization forms from business units.
  • Create system records for new assets and record asset disposals and sales.
  • Record transfers, capitalizations, and prepare fixed asset-related entries in non-Oracle general ledgers.
  • Provide physical tags to locations and assign numbers for newly capitalized assets.
  • Run depreciation expense using Oracle system tools and reconcile fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.
  • Report construction-in-process detail and capital expenditures to each business unit.
  • Prepare a roll-forward of fixed asset balances, including new assets, disposals, depreciation expense, and foreign exchange that ties to the GL.
  • Prepare gain and loss report for assets sold and disposed.

Requirements:

  • 5-9 years of relevant experience in accounting, with a focus on fixed assets.
  • Proficient in Oracle Project Accounting, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger modules.
  • Strong Excel and Outlook skills, with the ability to interact with internal customers via email or phone.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work with large spreadsheets and reconcile large amounts of data from multiple sources.
