Senior Database Engineer Position

The primary goal of this role is to design, develop, and maintain secure databases on Cloud and On-Prem platforms. As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be responsible for managing database performance, identifying issues, and implementing effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy DBMS installations
  • Monitor database performance and resolve issues
  • Migrate databases across Cloud and On-Prem platforms with minimal downtime
  • Provide guidance and support to Developers on database design and SQL query performance tuning
  • Implement HA/DR setup, replication, database encryption, index, and filegroup management
  • Regularly liaise with cross-functional teams, including Managers, Developers, Operations, and System Administrators
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge in database programming languages (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Knowledge of database backup-recovery, security, and performance monitoring standards
  • Understanding of database concepts, including ACID properties, normal forms, DDL/DML, transaction logging, log shipping, mirroring, and high-availability
  • Experience in developing migration plans to migrate on-premises databases to Cloud (AWS, Azure)
  • Excellent communication skills with attention to detail and problem-solving attitude
  • Adaptability to new processes or technology changes within the organization
