Job Summary:

As a Commi & Chef de Partie or Sous Chef, you will be responsible for food preparation and kitchen operations in a busy commercial environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cooking and have a strong work ethic.

Duties Include:

  • Food Preparation: Chop vegetables, peel potatoes, and cut meat or fish to prepare ingredients for recipes.
  • Measure and Weigh Ingredients: Ensure accurate measurements and weighings of ingredients for recipes.
  • Assist with Food Service: Assist in making sauces, soups, and other dishes as required by the kitchen team.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Clean, maintain and organize the kitchen area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Wash and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, and utensils to prevent contamination and maintain a high level of hygiene.
  • Inventory Management: Properly store leftover food and label it to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Teamwork: Assist by following instructions from the chef de partie or sous chef and support different kitchen sections as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Learn and practice new cooking techniques and recipes to stay up-to-date with industry standards.
  • Supply Chain Management: Help with receiving and checking deliveries and store supplies in the correct areas.
  • Communication: Inform senior chefs about low stock levels and follow hygiene and food safety regulations.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Wear proper kitchen uniform and personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Hazard Reporting: Report any hazards or kitchen issues to management promptly.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts or Catering Technology.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years experience in Continental Cuisines.
  • Training: Training provided for the eligible candidates.
