Research Economist

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Research Economist to support our Manufacturing department in research economic issues. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting surveys and collecting data, analyzing data using analytical models and statistical techniques, presenting research results in reports, tables, and charts, interpreting and forecasting market trends, advising businesses, governments, and individuals on economic topics, recommending solutions to economic problems, and writing articles for academic journals and other media.

Key Performance Indicators:

  1. Ability to strategize and plan research agendas and report concepts, ensuring at least one detailed report within a year.
  2. Engage with ministries, universities, think tanks, and other agencies in research assignments, resulting in at least one co-authored report/publication with Government/Academia.
  3. Identify agenda/initiatives for research work with various stakeholders to identify topics of research.
  4. Prepare discussion points/talking points for various meetings and discussion forums, supporting the department by providing relevant content and points for effective delivery.
  5. Make relevant presentations in various fora's, making crisp presentations during committee/council/government meetings.
  6. Interpret issues/concerns raised by various stakeholders and recommend solutions to those issues.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

A postgraduate degree in Economics from a leading university in India or Abroad is mandatory.

The ideal candidate should possess thought leadership skills, strategic thinking, excellent domain knowledge, conceptualization and consultative skills, and effective communication and presentation skills.
