Job Opportunity: Director of Strategic Programs

The Institute seeks a visionary leader to drive its Centre for Capital Markets, fostering education, research, and innovation in financial markets, fintech, and quantitative finance.

Job Purpose:

  • The Director will lead strategic, academic, and operational initiatives, building interdisciplinary collaborations and driving impactful outcomes.
  • Experience in academia, research management, or the financial services industry is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
  1. Develop and execute the Centre's long-term vision and strategy, aligning programs with its mandate.
  2. Provide support for research projects, working papers, and publications in financial markets and related areas.
  • Education and Research Program Management:
  1. Support faculty-led research, student engagement, and visiting scholar initiatives.
  2. Organize training programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and certificate courses.
  • Industry and Stakeholder Engagement:
  1. Build partnerships with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
  2. Host seminars, panel discussions, and talks/lectures by industry experts.
  • Operational Oversight:
  1. Manage day-to-day administration, including budgeting, reporting, and resource planning.
  2. Supervise staff, interns, and research associates.
  • Communication and Outreach:
  1. Oversee the Centre's visibility, including publications, newsletters, and website updates.
  2. Represent the Centre at conferences, academic forums, and industry meetings.

Desired Profile:

  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or related disciplines.
  • At least 15 years of experience in academia, research institutions, regulatory bodies, financial services companies, industry associations, or relevant organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage academic and research programs.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
