UAV Design Engineer

Job Description:

Pavaman Aviation is shaping the future of unmanned flight by developing advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for defense, commercial, and industrial applications.

This role plays a critical part in designing and developing fixed-wing and/or VTOL UAV platforms from concept through to prototype and production. As a UAV Design Engineer on our R&D team, you'll lead and contribute to conceptual and detailed design of UAV airframes and sub-systems.

You will perform aerodynamic analysis and optimization of UAV configurations, design structural components and assemblies using advanced composite and lightweight materials, and develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings. You will also work closely with electronics, propulsion, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of UAV airframes and sub-systems
  • Perform aerodynamic analysis and optimization of UAV configurations
  • Design structural components and assemblies using advanced composite and lightweight materials
  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings
  • Work closely with electronics, propulsion, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, along with 2-5 years of relevant experience in UAV or aircraft design. Proficiency in CAD software, strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and structural design are essential.

Preferred Skills:

Experience designing VTOL, hybrid, or long-endurance UAV platforms, familiarity with autopilot systems and avionics integration, and knowledge of electric propulsion systems and battery technologies are highly desirable.
