Job Overview

The VMware Administrator is a pivotal role within an organization, tasked with overseeing and maintaining the virtualized infrastructure. Key to this position is a strong background in IT and expertise in VMware products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage converged infrastructure related issues, provisioning, new deployment support/Planning, and expansion of resources.
  2. Ensure maximum uptime and performance characteristics for SAN infrastructure and converged platforms.
  3. Resolve escalated issues from L2 Team and clients to guarantee closure within ASAP timelines.
  4. Analyze monitoring results and recommend changes to enhance performance, security, and utilization.
  5. Plan and recommend infrastructure modifications or additional equipment to increase system capacities.
  6. Implement troubleshooting measures to maintain high levels of system uptime and performance.
  7. Coordinate with OEMs for HW replacements, advanced troubleshooting, and code upgrades.
  8. Oversee day-to-day operations, BMC ticket closure within SLAs, and coordination with multiple teams' stakeholders to resolve issues.
  9. Develop and implement plans for required changes, raising RFCs accordingly.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT and VMware administration.
  • A strong understanding of converged infrastructure, storage, and UCS technologies.
  • Experience with vCenter, RecoverPoint, and other VMware tools.
  • The ability to analyze complex problems and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
