Key Data Engineering Role

Our organization is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to spearhead the development and maintenance of our data platforms.

  • Review existing data collection systems, analyze their performance, and make informed recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead junior engineers to ensure they align with business objectives.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain data platforms that meet high standards.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing data platform performance and implement changes to meet service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their data needs, provide expert advice, and deliver tailored solutions.

Required Expertise:

Technical Skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform for deploying and managing data solutions.
  • Strong expertise in ETL processes, efficiently moving and transforming data between systems and storage solutions.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience working with data warehouse solutions like Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery.
  • Advanced skills in Python and SQL, creating efficient queries.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, and related tools for processing large volumes of data.
  • Management and optimization of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Identification, analysis, and resolution of infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
  • Code error resolution and finding solutions for pipeline issues.
Soft Skills
  • Multitasking and ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication with end users to collect requirements and advise on data integration solutions.
  • Leadership qualities guiding and mentoring junior team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges and troubleshoot data engineering issues.
  • Meticulous approach ensuring data accuracy, quality, and adherence to best practices.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
