Data Scientist Position

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our team. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing machine learning and data analytics solutions to build our industry-leading map.

The successful candidate will be passionate about innovating and developing predictive models to drive business outcomes. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team that works on cutting-edge technology to create tools and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable Big Data infrastructure and machine learning solutions for global-scale digital map-making.
  • BUILD analytic and statistical models to improve internal data-driven processes and system control needs.
  • Act as an expert and evangelist in areas of data mining, machine learning, statistics, and predictive analysis and modeling.
  • Lead predictive modeling or application teams on Core Map projects.

Requirements:

  • Masters or PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Econometrics with emphasis on computational statistics/engineering, data mining, machine learning, and optimization.
  • 7+ years related professional experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge in one or more of regression, classifiers, clustering, association rules, decision trees, Bayesian network analysis, etc.
  • Knowledge of Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Point Cloud Processing algorithms.
  • Proficiency with Python, R, Matlab, SAS, SQL, shell script, etc.
  • Experience with Pig, Hive, Hadoop, Spark for big data extraction and data prep.
  • Capability to interact with customer executives, technical and non-technical to explain uses and value of predictive systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in understanding, specifying and explaining predictive modeling solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Development experience with Scala
  • Development experience with Docker
  • Development experience with GIS data
  • Development experience with NoSQL (i.e. DynamoDB)
