Senior Tax Analyst Role

As a senior tax analyst, you will play a key role in preparing, reviewing and filing tax returns for various customers. Your expertise will be utilized to manage customer relationships, research and resolve jurisdictional notices and identify opportunities for automation across different markets and tax areas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review and file sales/use, business and occupation, and gross receipts tax returns for various filing periods.
  • Manage customer relationships as the primary point of contact.
  • Research and resolve jurisdictional notices for customers.
  • Onboard and validate new sales/use tax return customers.
  • Identify and improve automation across different markets and tax areas.
  • Communicate regularly with customers, jurisdictions and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Perform quality checks on tax content and form changes.
  • Manage workload to consistently meet or exceed deadlines.
  • Suggest improvements to processes and technology to better serve customers.
  • Collaborate with staff and management.
  • Troubleshoot critical issues to minimize risk.
  • Utilize expert knowledge of jurisdiction websites and data entry nuances.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in finance with three years of relevant experience.
  • Comfortable working during US business hours.
  • Consistently meets deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate on achieving goals.
  • Quick to learn new software and tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Power Pivot, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP).
  • Experience in large corporate tax department or ERP integration.
  • Deep understanding of platform features (nexus, exemptions, marketplace rules, filing calendars, reporting).
  • Basic understanding of transaction flow and tax return impact.
  • Knowledge of tax calculation, data flow, returns mapping and filing automation.
