Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Tax Advisory Associate. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in direct tax and experience in structuring and advising on deals from a tax perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structuring and advising on deals from a tax perspective, including foreign exchange control and other regulatory requirements.
  • Drafting and reviewing deal documents, including term sheets, loan agreements, and disclosure reports.
  • Handholding clients in conceptualizing deals with a focus on India entry/exit strategy, favorable holding jurisdiction, tax efficiency, and commercial rationale.
  • Providing advisory services on possible structuring through the IFSC Gift city.
  • Liaising with stakeholders, including AD Bankers, and undertaking health checks and due diligence reports.
International Tax and FEMA Advisory
  • Providing advisory services on international tax issues, including PE, profit attribution, business connection, expat tax, ESOPs, indirect transfer, POEM, capital repatriation, royalty, FTS, broadcasting rights, and tax transparent entities.
  • Analyzing effective tax rates (ETRs) for Indian promoter-held groups with multiple entities.
  • Assisting with FEMA applications and compounding proceedings.
  • Engaging with Senior Counsels and preparing synopsis and briefings for assessments, appeals, and lower withholding applications.
Requirements
  • CA/LLB degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 0-3 years of experience in direct tax advisory.
  • Strong understanding of direct tax laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
