About this position
  • This is a senior level support role for AS/400 systems.
  • You'll be working with IBM AS/400, COBOL, RPG programming, DB2 databases, and other related technologies.
  • Your primary responsibility will be providing Level 2 and Level 3 support for these systems.
Key requirements
  1. Experience with IBM AS/400 (COBOL, RPG III, RPGILE, SQLILE, CLLE) is essential.
  2. You must have a strong understanding of business applications and processes supported by the AS400 system.
  3. Familiarize yourself with the system architecture diagram of the AS400 application and its interface mechanisms with upstream and downstream systems.
  4. Document various AS400 environments, OS levels, and database versions.
  5. Perform code walkthroughs of complex, critical, or error-prone COBOL, RPG code modules.
  6. Understand how the AS400 application integrates with other systems.
  7. Maintain knowledge of current monitoring mechanisms, log directories, and housekeeping processes on AS400 servers.
  8. Evaluate compliance requirements for the AS400 system and ensure adherence.
