Job Title:

Senior DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enhance Terraform scripts for data engineering pipelines, GitHub repositories, etc.
  • Work directly with infrastructure provisioning tools and related automation tooling
  • Automate environment setup, deployments, and key rotation practices for cloud-based services
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless operations - Handle AWS IAM, RSA key management, and secrets vault usage
  • Understand business requirements, solutions, and project KPIs
  • Implement various software development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure Setting up tools and required infrastructure
  • Define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operations
  • Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate software code developed in projects
  • Troubleshoot techniques and coordinate fixing bug fixes with developers
  • Monitor processes during entire lifecycles for adherence and update or create new processes for improvement in a lean manner
  • Plan and build automated processes where possible
  • Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessments and risk management
  • Select and deploy appropriate CI/CD tools and pipelines
  • Build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipelines (CI/CD Pipeline) for various technologies and platforms
  • Mentor and guide team members on DevOps collaboration
  • Monitor and measure customer experience and KPIs
  • Plan team structure, activities, and involvement in project management activities
  • Coordinate communication within the team and with customers
  • Manage stakeholders and external interfaces
  • Provide periodic reporting on progress to management and customers
  • Responsible individual working with business domain expertise

Required Competencies and Skills:

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Experience with chaos engineering or resilience testing
  • Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid environments
  • Ability to write clear runbooks and do postmortems
  • Exposure to data warehousing platforms Snowflake, FiveTran, DBT Cloud
  • Exposure to other distributed systems Kafka, Cassandra, etc.
  • Contributions to improving SRE practices error budgets, blameless postmortems
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation
  • Typical SRE responsibilities programming/scripting, networking basics DNS, LB/ELB, TCP/IP, VPN/VPC
  • Strong Linux background
  • Thorough knowledge in DevOps practices and concepts
  • Hands-on skills in CI/CD tools Jenkins, ArgoCD (Cloud Native CI/CD tools), etc. Configuration automation tools Ansible
  • Experience in cloud native tools and technologies Docker and Kubernetes
  • Test automation tools and mechanisms JMeter, Newman, etc.
  • Infrastructure automation tools Terraform
  • Application monitoring tools Elasticsearch/Kibana, Prometheus, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in at least one development language Java or .NET
  • Scripting knowledge in python/shell etc. with experience on Linux/Windows
  • Team player
  • Effective communicator with different project stakeholders
