About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Technical Writer to join our Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Product Documentation team in Pune, India.

In this position, you will contribute to creating high-quality technical documentation that accompanies Red Hat offerings, available online through the Red Hat Customer Portal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop complex technical documents, including feature descriptions, installation guides, and release notes, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior writers, content strategists, and engineering teams to create and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and subject-matter experts to ensure timely delivery of documentation for each release.
  • Understand product complexities to effectively communicate how it works and its importance.
  • Partner with documentation team members to manage, publish, and review content using Red Hat tools.
  • Review content analytics to identify customer needs and influence future content creation decisions.
  • Engage with customer feedback programs to address content gaps, respond to customer feedback, and improve the documentation experience.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in writing documentation and procedural materials for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering teams and engage subject-matter experts to gather technical inputs.
  • Capacity to prioritize work, diagnose problems, and meet defined objectives.
  • Skills to analyze user needs and write for specific audiences, tailoring content complexity to their requirements.
  • Knowledge of style guides, minimalism principles, content journeys, and topic-based documentation.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for continuous learning and professional development.
