GIS Data Specialist Role Overview

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled GIS Data Specialist to support informed decision-making through the collection, analysis, and interpretation of geospatial data.

  • We require a minimum of 4+ years of experience in a Data Specialist position. Preferred candidates should have knowledge of various ESRI products, including ArcGIS Enterprise, Image Analyst Extension, and Data Reviewer Extension.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets, including GIS data and satellite imagery. Knowledge of image analysis techniques, such as band combinations and pixel depth, is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection and Management: Search, collect, process, and manage large datasets, including GIS data and satellite imagery.
  • Validate and ensure the accuracy, quality, and completeness of spatial data.
  • ETL operations: Perform ETL operations between GIS applications/database using Esri Desktop or Server.
  • GIS Analysis and Mapping: Conduct spatial analysis, map creation, and geospatial model development to aid various projects and initiatives.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through quality checks and resolution of data discrepancies using ArcGIS Data Reviewer.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including project managers, analysts, and external partners, to comprehend data requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience with Image analysis: Familiarity with Image processing techniques.
  • Knowledgeable with various ESRI products - ArcGIS Enterprise, Image Analyst Extension, Data Reviewer Extension.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve issues proactively and provide recommendations to business partners, peers, and various levels of management.
